I had no idea that my friends and my partner were secretly planning a baby shower for me. I thought they’re too busy to do that. So you can imagine how blindsided I was when Aris and I arrived home last Friday evening. As we’re approaching our humble home, I was nagging Aris for delaying our plan to go to the mall that night. He told me that we should go home first so he can change to a more casual attire (which is part of the deception pala…hrrmmhp!). It’s odd because the house was dark and I thought Ate Beth, our kasambahay, was already sleeping at 7 pm! That added up to my irritation. When we opened the door… SURPRISE! There they were, my friends at work all smiling at me. I dumbly responded with just a smile as well. It had already been a minute or longer and I still had no idea what was going on. I even told them that I have no food to feed them. Then I glanced over to the dining room and noticed the table brimming with food and drinks. That’s when it occurred to me, finally. It’s my baby shower!
Anyhow, there were about 15 or so people there. I’m so thankful to my coworkers for throwing the shower for me. It was just wonderful.
Ros did a fabulous job… from decorating our sala with balloons to entertaining everyone with a game. I am so lucky to have a housemate like her… she really did everything she could to make sure I would be super happy that evening, even to the point of including her baby picture in the “Guess who’s baby picture” game.
Her picture made everyone laugh. She was labeled as the “most improved.” I guess you already know why hehe.
The food was taken care of by Anjo and Jeff. Jeff cooked chicken curry which is one of my favorites in the whole world. Anjo made the igado which is Aris’s favorite naman.
There were also lumpiang shanghai and a big bilao of pansit (Aris bought it in Dampa… very affordable but tasty!).
K.G. made a chocolate cake for this particular event. Winner! Although I can’t indulge too much on it, I made sure I took my part hehe. Thanks to her, sobra! She also prepared the give-aways.
Very very cute! Ang daming natuwa. K.G. is a mommy too and a super creative one at that! Get in touch with her if you need a cake for a special event. Super sarap talaga! You can ask Aris regarding that. He ate the 2 mini-cakes K.G. made for me! Talk about taking advantage…hmmp!
Of course, how can I forget to tell you about all the wonderful gifts my baby received.
I’m sooooo happy. Thanks to everyone who came. Thanks to all who contributed, financially and morally. I feel really blessed to be working with people I really consider friends. Keep on praying for me and for my boy. Cheers!

I’m sad I missed the fun. But I’m so happy you enjoyed your party.
