Setting my mind before the big day

I’m  thinking more and more about labor and am getting scared a bit. I’m trying to imagine how it would feel like – the contractions, the pain, the anesthesia, the episiotomy. I’ve been thinking about how I will cope with the pain and how am going to try my very best to refrain from having an epidural, even though it has always seemed to be the easiest option to me. I’m also not discounting the possibility of a c-section, but it’s the last thing on my mind. God help me deliver this baby without a cut on my tummy! Please?

I really like the fact that if I refrain or refused from having an epidural or c-section, I can walk and move around freely during labor and can take as many showers in the labor room rather than being restricted to bed. I also learned that recovery is much easier and quicker, hence more quality time with my baby. Last but not the least, no side effects! If things will go my way, I’d have a healthier postnatal period. That means a happy mother and son bonding! Yipee!

Little Ben’s cooperation and God’s grace, as well as an enormous courage on my side, are all I need to keep me sane through out this anticipation period. I just wish I’d find a way to be distracted for the next 2 or 3 weeks so the time would go faster!
